Water Safety Test
The Water Safety Test is mandatory for NEW swimmers ages 12 and under to ensure a spot on the Folsom Tigersharks. Returning swimmers are not required to take the test. Each NEW swimmer must demonstrate the ability to swim one length (25 yards) without assistance in under one minute. Swimmers can rest on the wall and lane lines during the test but cannot advance themselves. Swimmers may use any of the four strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) or combination thereof to advance across the pool.

Individual swimmers (8 & under) that do not meet the one minute water safety standard will be given an additional option to participate on the Junior Tigersharks this season.  Junior Tigersharks will participate in a 10 week program beginning their season mid-May and continuing through the end of July. Juniors will be provided proper swimming instruction to become competitive swimmers in the Nor Cal Swim League. Home Tigershark "dual meets" will be open to Juniors in the months of June and July (chosen at the discretion of the Folsom Tigersharks coaching staff and coordinator).  Click here for more details on the Junior Tigersharks.

The Water Safety Test SHOULD NOT PREVENT YOU FROM REGISTERING for the Folsom Tigersharks Swim Team.  All swimmers between age 4-18 qualify to be part of the Team. The Water Safety Test is in place to determine your swimmer's ability and safety in the water.  It will also determine your swim season start date (April for Tigersharks, May for Junior Tigersharks).
